Jack Writes Grants

I have over a decade of experience in grant writing and management. I managed federal, state, and private grants at four colleges and universities before becoming a grant writer. Now I work with local businesses and non-profit organizations of all sizes to find and obtain grants that meet their goals. I have a doctorate in education and a master’s degree in writing.

I am comfortable working on most types of grants, but a few particular areas of grant expertise include:

• Advanced manufacturing
• Agriculture, food systems, and farm management
• Animal shelters, rescues, and sanctuaries
• Author or artist grants and fellowships
• BIPOC and/or women-owned small businesses
• Education (including K-12, higher education, and after-school enrichment programs)*
• LGBTQ+ organizations and businesses
• Libraries
• Public health**
• Research funding for doctoral and post-doctoral candidates
• Small business / entrepreneurial start-ups

*I only apply for education grants where there is no conflict-of-interest with my primary employer.

**I generally do not apply for medical research grants.
